Subway Stories
An ongoing photograph series
Artist statement:
I’ve been taking pictures on the subway for over a decade. The subway is a place where you can find people in a state of suspension; they’re coming from somewhere and going to somewhere else, but where they are right now is a middle place.
There's minimal eye contact on the subway and it's not a place of judgment. It’s a space we all endure as privately as we publicly can. It's fascinating to witness how everyone experiences their ride, their thoughts expressed on their face, their masks down. In many ways, it feels like one of the purest forms of humanity.
